8 Ways to effectively remember what you have studied

8 Ways to effectively remember what you have studied
Studying is tiring and is highly individualized. Students may have problems remembering what they have studied for tomorrow’s test. It is really big problem based from experience. However, there is a way or technique to remember those things written in your notes or your text books. These are the following:

1.       Take good care of yourself. Physiological needs are on the first step of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. Depriving yourself of necessary nutrients will surely affect the way you think and function. Therefore, treat yourself with a good balanced meal complete with veggies and ample amount of carbohydrates and proteins. Take a good night sleep everyday.

2.       Know your I.Q.  Studies have shown that those people that can study well with many distractions are high I.Q. individuals while those who can not study in such places are low I.Q. individuals. It is important to know your level so that you will know what studying strategy will suit you. Don’t get hurt if you have low score. Take it as a motivation that you are capable of increasing to the highest level with your own efforts.

3.       Establish a time budget. An effective time management is the key to success. Planning your activities so that nothing comes in the way in time for your studying is a very big factor. Learn to triage your day to day activities. Omit those activities that are of no significance for the day and can wait for tomorrow or the date when you don’t have anything to study for.

4.       Select a quiet corner in your home. Although many people can study well even in crowded, noisy places, studying in a quiet corner is a sure way to avoid distractions.

5.       Do mind setting. Set your mind for studying. Set a certain amount of time to clear your thoughts before studying.  There is a saying “your cup of tea is full”. If you read between the lines, it means that when your thoughts are already full, there won’t be any space available for new wonderful information to come in.

6.       Use your senses when studying. Studies have shown that a certain information is best remembered when it is perceived using most of your senses. This means that when you study, you just don’t have to read silently. Say the word or phrase, which you want to remember, out loud. In that way, it can be encoded to your brain via the auditory sense.

7.       Feel what you study. Studies have also shown that when emotions and mood is involved, a certain event is best remembered and that those events associated with good mood are best recalled. Therefore, when you study, make sure that you are in the mood for it. If not, spend some time to set your mood but make sure it won’t hurt your time budget significantly. Feel happy when you study. Put some emotions into those boring letters in your textbooks. React to what you have read. Be interactive with the book or your notes.

8.       Organize what you will study.  Studying wisely is great. Know what important things to study and focus only to it. In that way, you won’t be having that dreaded information overload.

Following these steps will help you remember things. But always do remember that studying is highly individualized. You can create your own way of studying.

Tax on Cigarettes Will Increase

Many of the Filipinos are fond of smoking tobacco and, as years progress, later upgraded to cigarettes which offers different tastes. Most of them have taken it to the next level - they became addiced.
They are physically wanting that piece of smoking stick. Because of this, health problems associated with smoking went higher and higher every year. This causes a significant effect on the Filipinos' economy as it alters every smoking worker's productivity.
The Government's solution - raise the taxes to be imposed on cigarettes. In short, make it more expensive. The reason why Filipinos became addicted is that it is not only because of the addicitive substance in it, but also because of its cheap price. The cheapest cigarette so far costs P0.12 per stick. Too cheap to avoid teenagers from buying.
Hence, Former Health Secretary Jaime Galvez-Tan wants legislators to increase cigarette tax. The higher the price of the stick, the lesser buyer will it produce. If this strategy will be effective, the rate of smoking will significantly lower down to a level low enough to affect the entire economic and health status of the country.
But it will be a long shot. Smoking has taken its root deep on every smoker. Thus, making it very hard to remove. But with God's help, things will go well and so will this smoking problem of the Filipinos.
When this proposal is approved, cigarette sticks will cost 4.50 Philippines pesos per stick.
"But it will have to go a long way before becoming true policy", said  Deborah Sy, executive director of Health Justice.

Good bye laptop! Hello Rolltop!

Good news to all techies out there. Engineers is now taking a leap on advancing our modern-day laptops. They are now trying to build the world's next leading piece of portable personalized computer. Our laptops would soon evolve to something more flexible - OLED Rolltop computer.
Yes. You read it right - rolltop. That means it can be rolled! Although it is still a concept, rolltops are really quite promising. The design was proposed by a german named Evgeny Orkin. His design combines the amazing effects of OLED-Display technology and multi touch screen the utility of a laptop computer with added flexibility. OLED means Organic Light Emitting Diode. This display technology boasts its blazing fast response times, wide viewing angles, exceptional color reproduction, outstanding contrast levels, and high brightness. All these output in order for the user to fell a whole new way of viewing experience.
Included in its design is a removable power supply stand. This stand is equipped with a webcam, speaker sound bar, USB ports, the power supply and power cord. As you unroll the screen from its sleek cylindrical cradle, you can connect to the power stand and connect the power cord to the outlet in your wall. Portable.
The screen has an amazing characteristic. It can be situated upright like a flat screen TV. With a multi-touch technology, you won't need a mouse and a keyboard. And after you're done using it, you can simply roll it back to its cradle and carry it around like a purse. Good news for the women but certainly puts a doubt on men. Carrying it like a purse seems awkward for most men. Nevertheless, the gadget is still a concept which means there is still more room for enhancement and changes.
Now, isn't that wonderful? So, watch out for it.

The Difference Between Talent and Skill

Talent and skill have often been used interchangeably. They often say that talent is the same as skill. The truth is they are not. Talent and skill are totally different. They are worlds away. When a person asks another person “What is your talent?", then you say "I play the guitar well", he has just responded inappropriately. Here is why.

Guitar playing is not a talent, it is a skill. Singing is not a skill, it's a talent. So, what is the difference between the two, anyway? It's simple. Talent is something that is already in you. Just like instincts, it is innate in a person that has it. It is like you already have the raw ingredients for something revolutionary or very great. The person who has it just has to find a way to utilize those raw materials well.

As great as it may sound, not everyone has it. It is unique. Opposite to talent is skill. Skill is something that you can acquire through the use of external help. It is not innate in a person. It is learned and can be practiced to perfection. And unlike talent, skill can be in every person.

Knowing the difference between the two, it is now easy to rationalize the first statement of the second paragraph. Guitar playing is not a talent, it is a skill. In contrast, singing is not a skill, it is a talent. Why? As mentioned earlier, talent is a unique thing that is already innate in a person. He or she is born with it. Playing the guitar does not require special characteristics for a person to learn it.

Hand dexterity is the minimum requirement which is not something you acquire at birth. It can be trained. With proper practice, a person could just manipulate his hand with dexterity enough to play the guitar satisfactorily. The point here is that guitar can be learned. This thought marries well with the definition of skill which is something that is acquired through training. Singing is talent in a sense that it is something you are born with. Singing requires proper configuration of the organs that are involved in singing. T

his talks about the anatomy of a person which is a something a person is born with. This thought is in accordance to the definition of talent. Therefore, singing is a talent. There are times at which these two are present in a person at the same time. This is when we call a person truly ‘gifted’. This happens very rarely and person who is blessed with this gift will surely go far in the field he or she invested his or her energy on.

With these thought in mind, it is now easy for an individual to distinguish which is talent and which is skill. There would be no more interchanging use of these words.

Things you should consider before having an Online Prescription

When you feel something wrong in your body, you go to your doctor. You ride your car, travel short or long distances, and wait in traffic, just to get to your trusted clinic and have them give you a small piece of paper they call prescription. What an effort you have to give for you to get the needed key to get the drug that can alleviate your health problems. It is very stressful which is a precipitating factor to whatever it is you are feeling. So, what is the solution to this problem? Online prescription is the answer.

The invention of the internet has unlocked a lot of possibilities that made human life a lot manageable. Among the possibilities it unlocked, perhaps one of the most helpful is by having medicaments be available online. This would mean that you won’t have to travel and wait in traffic to get that small piece of paper. By having pharmacies online, availing of drugs has become easier and cheaper. Another plus factor is that it is supported by the law.

It sounds too good to be true, isn’t it? That is because it is true.  Buying drugs via the internet has been widely used today. Online drug stores are in demand. However, these great opportunities have some downsides.
Ideally, you get a written order for a medication from a licensed medical practitioner. You get it after these specialists got some critical data from you regarding your sickness.

They obtain these data using the four main means of assessing namely inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion. When they got the data and analyzed them well, they give you an authoritative recommendation for a certain drug. In that way, you will get yourself healed and not getting killed.

The problem in getting these recommendations via the internet is that the means they are using before giving you the said recommendations are only through questionnaires. That means data collected is insufficient. How will they know that you are having a slow or fast respiration rate? It is a critical subjective data that must be obtained before taking in some medicine that might affect your respiration rate. When overlooked, this could lead to serious conditions and quite possibly lead to death.

Another problem is the legitimacy of these online drug dispensaries. Not all of them are legal. In fact, only a portion of the entire population of these online drug stores is legitimate. You really have to be careful in choosing companies to buy from. Choose the ones that have been legalized and approved by the government. Otherwise, you might end up taking in pills made from the kitchen.

Adding to the problem is the fact that even kids can get their hands on drugs requiring legal documents. They just have to fill up some questionnaires and enter their credit card number and they have their drug.

Therefore, before taking your online prescription, make sure that you have weighed the pros and cons properly. Don’t make moves that might kill you in the end. Before anything else, take a sit, relax, and think about it properly.
